From 14 to 24 October 2009 four Antwerp partners join forces to present Amperdans4, an international performance and dance festival. Amperdans demonstrates the commitment of wpZimmer, Monty, Troubleyn/Laboratorium and the Royal Ballet of Flanders to dance and is designed to acquaint you with the diversity and dynamism currently to be seen on today’s dance scene.

Amperdans4 gives free rein to performance, dance and hybrid forms and goes in search of the common interfaces. You can immerse yourself in a wide range of performances, with challenging work by both absolute beginners and established names. The programme includes international talent that has not yet been seen on stage in Flanders and some of the best dance performances produced during our country in the recent season.

We hope to see you at one of the many locations in Antwerp during these ten days, all of which are jam-packed with performances, and will be only too pleased to take you on an invigorating and interesting tour of the city and of contemporary dance and performance

DAG VAN HET FILMBEROEP
Toekomstvisies voor een filmlandschap in transitie

Maandag 12 oktober van 11u tot 17u in kunstencentrum Vooruit, Gent

Een initiatief van het steunpunt voor beeldende, audiovisuele en mediakunst BAM, het Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds VAF, MEDIA Desk België - Vlaamse Gemeenschap, SACD/Scam* en het Internationaal Filmfestival Gent.

De Dag van het Filmberoep , het jaarlijks treffen van de Vlaamse filmsector tijdens het Internationaal Filmfestival Gent, gaat over de impact van online platformen, digitale cinema, mediaconvergenties en nieuwe gebruikerspatronen op de Vlaamse filmprofessional. Welk soort films willen maken, in welke vorm, voor welke kanalen en met welke businessmodellen? Hoe kunnen we meer films beter en langer aanbieden aan het publiek? Op welke manier kunnen zaalvertoning én thuisconsumptie samengaan en elkaar versterken? Hoe het publiek wegwijs maken in het aanbod? Hoe films rijker omkaderen en nog meer inbedden in educatie en onderwijs?
Iedereen in het audiovisuele landschap (makers, producenten, distributeurs, vertoners, festivals, filmcritici en tijdschriften, archieven, educatieve initiatieven…) krijgt met die veranderingen te maken. Kansen en bedreigingen worden tegenover elkaar afgewogen en werking en rollen worden herzien. Hét masterplan of toekomstscenario bestaat (nog) niet. Men observeert, analyseert, herschikt en test uit. Overleg en uitwisselen is de boodschap.

De conferentie wordt ingeleid door twee topsprekers die deze veranderingen op de voet volgen en samenvatten: Aviva Silver van het MEDIA programma van de Europese Commissie en Sandra Den Hamer, directrice van het Nederlands sectorinstituut film. Daarna zullen mensen uit zowat alle geledingen van het Vlaamse filmberoep openhartig spreken over hun plannen en pistes voor vandaag en morgen en zowel enthousiasme als argwaan over deze ontwikkelingen met het publiek delen.

Organized on the occasion of the Belgian première of Double Take at the Film Festival Ghent and the exhibition Double Take Plus at bkSM in Strombeek and Mechelen, this international symposium explores some of the main issues of Grimonprez’s film. Apart from including a screening of Double Take and a lecture by its filmmaker, the symposium deals with the work of Alfred Hitchcock, the visualizations of doubles and monuments, the oscillation between cinema and television, Cold War iconography and our contemporary culture of fear and catastrophe.

Speakers are: Johan Grimonprez, Tom Mc Carthy (Author of Remainder), Edwin Carels (KASK), Steven Jacobs (KASK, Antwerp University), Dany Nobus (Brunel University) and Jodi Dean (Hobart & William Smith Colleges, NY).

"Zanahoria" begint waar we met de vorige voorstelling eindigden : we verkleden ons in een gigantische wortel. En als we onszelf zelfs als wortel kunnen voordoen, als wat kunnen we dan nog herkend worden? We gaan op zoek naar beelden en proberen in die beelden op te gaan. We gaan te rade bij vrienden, mensen uit de buurt en kunstenaars die via tekeningen en schilderijen vorm trachten te geven aan onze eigen mentale fantasie. Maar keer op keer voldoen die beelden niet aan onze verwachtingen. Er spant zich een kloof tussen hoe we het ons hadden voorgesteld en hoe het er in werkelijkheid uitziet. We laten onze verwachtingen telkens zo hoog oplopen dat de teleurstelling gegarandeerd is. Zo weten we tenminste waaraan we ons kunnen verwachten....lees meer >>

Hoe aanvragen:

 

De scholen/leerkrachten maken een lijst op van de gegevens van de leerlingen die zich inschrijven voor de PROFPAS. Deze lijst wordt bezorgd aan ons bespreekbureau via tickets@kvs.be .

 

Van elke leerling vragen wij volgende gegevens:

- Naam en voornaam

- Adres

- Email

- Telefoonnummer

 

De leerlingen storten 30 euro op het rekeningnummer van KVS (210-0202530-46) met vermelding “PROFPAS”.

 

KVS stuurt de PROFPAS op naar de leerlingen.

 

Eens de leerlingen in het bezit zijn van de PROFPAS kunnen zij tickets reserveren voor de PROFPAS-voorstellingen (deze selectie vindt u onderaan) per telefoon of per mail. (tickets@kvs.be of 02/210 11 12).

 

Het afhalen van de tickets aan het bespreekbureau kan enkel op vertoon van de PROFPAS.

Vooruit komt ook dit jaar je studentenbudget tegemoet. We bieden je daarom de uiterst voordelige theaterstudentenpas aan.

AANKOOP VAN DE THEATERSTUDENTENPAS
Je betaalt eenmalig € 30
Voor je pas kan je van dinsdag t/m vrijdag 11.30 tot 18.00 en op zaterdag tussen 15.00 en 18.00 terecht in het Bespreekbureau van Vooruit Aan avondkassa’s worden geen passen verkocht.
Je naam moet op de lijst staan die ons door je school werd bezorgd. Is dat niet het geval, geef dan een seintje aan je docent.
Je bezorgt ons een recente pasfoto. Zonder pasfoto kunnen we je helaas geen pasje geven.

GEBRUIK VAN DE THEATERSTUDENTENPAS

Je pas is strikt persoonlijk en vervalt indien je je studies tijdens het academiejaar zou stopzetten.
Je pas is uitsluitend geldig voor theater-, muziektheater-, dans- en performancevoorstellingen, door Vooruit geprogrammeerd.
Je kan als theaterstudent niet reserveren voor voorstellingen. Aan de avondkassa wordt op persoonlijk vertoon van je pas een ticket gegeven voor de voorstelling.De avondkassa gaat open 1 uur voor de aanvang van de voorstelling, op de plaats van de voorstelling.
Is een voorstelling uitverkocht dan kan je op de wachtlijst, net als onze andere klanten. Dat kan telefonisch of ter plaatse in het Bespreekbureau. De wachtlijst gaat open om 12:00 uur, de dag van de voorstelling. Voor voorstellingen op zaterdag of zondag gaat de wachtlijst vanaf vrijdag om 12:00 uur open. Als je op de wachtlijst staat, kom je een half uur voor de voorstelling naar de avondkassa.

The Old Brand New A monthly lecture series in the English language in Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam revolving around the concept ‘new’ in the arts. Tuesday,15 September, 8.30 pm:  What is New? The last lecture of series: The Old Brand New! With the speakers Dick Hebdige and Keith Sawyer THE OLD BRAND NEW raises the question if ‘new’ is still a viable model or criterion for our naming and assessment of developments in the arts. Since the late 1990s, the practice and mediation of contemporary art manifest another historic awareness. Thinking in terms of ruptures has been put into perspective and there is a tendency towards approaching culture in terms of continuity. Whether they aim at a revival of forms, preoccupations, or strategies developed by artists in the past or at tracing and articulating their still untapped potential, the artists of today seem more inclined to sharing their territory than to demarcating it. Our global reality makes thinking in terms of the ‘new’ problematic because this implies a linear, progressive notion of time, and once again emphasizes the need for an alternative approach to the term ‘new’. How new can new be nowadays? Speakers: Dick Hebdige (UK) is an expatriate British media theorist and sociologist, most commonly associated with the study of subcultures, and its resistance against the mainstream of society. received his M.A. from the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies in Birmingham (UK). He is best known for his influential book, “Subculture: Meaning of Style”, originally published in 1979. He is currently a professor of film studies and art studio, as well as director of the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center, at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His current interests include the integration of autobiography and mixed media in critical writing and pedagogy. He recently contributed to “Sound Unbound: Sampling Digital Music and Culture” (The MIT Press, 2008) edited by Paul D. Miller a.k.a. DJ Spooky. Dr. R. Keith Sawyer (US), a professor of psychology, education, and business at Washington University in St. Louis, and is considered to be one of the world’s leading scientific experts on creativity and improvisation. He combines this scientific expertise with a strong hands-on background in real-world creativity. After receiving his computer science degree from MIT in 1982, he began his career with a two-year stint designing videogames for Atari. Since receiving his Ph.D. in psychology in 1994, he has dedicated his career to research on collaboration and creativity. His tenth book “Group Genius” (Basic Books), published in 2007 and written for a broad audience, draws on his research on jazz and improv theater to show the reader how to be more creative in collaborative group settings and how to change organizations for the better.
